The rat's advice: eTravelSim only offers refunds within 5 days of purchase, while retaining $5 or 30% of the price, and its QR code can only be scanned once. Buy with the code once your trip is confirmed, and install the eSIM before you leave, using Wi-Fi.
The eTravelSim promo code that works in October 2026
One single code, and we added it to the cart on October 1, 2026: ESIMRAT10 takes 10% off your order. eTravelSim created it for eSIMrat readers as part of its partner program, valid across the entire site until December 31, 2026.
Code tested in the eTravelSim cart on October 1, 2026
ESIMRAT10eSIMrat code, for all customers-10%Test performed on the 1 GB Japan 30-day plan, without paying: $4.50 reduced to $4.05. Code valid until December 31, 2026.
The code is entered after choosing your plan, never before: the volume and duration determine the price, and the discount is applied on top. And only one code per order: the field only accepts one at a time.
The eTravelSim promo code, tested in a real shopping cart
We didn't copy a code from another site. On October 1, 2026, we added the 1 GB 30-day Japan plan to the cart, priced at $4.50, then applied the code, paying nothing.
Result: ESIMRAT10 is accepted, the -$0.45 discount is displayed, and the total drops to $4.05. The same test on the 5 GB 30-day plan ($7.99 reduced to $7.20) and on the 30-day unlimited plan ($69.99 reduced to $63.00): the code also works on unlimited plans. An invalid code, however, is rejected.
This test is what it is: a dated measurement. A provider can deactivate a code overnight without warning anyone. The date is displayed on this page so you know when the last check was performed, and we redo it regularly.
What 10% earns on the eTravelSim grid
A percentage discount is proportional to the price. Here is what 10% represents on eTravelSim's Japan pricing grid, the destination we use as a benchmark across the entire site.
What 10% brings in, eTravelSim Japan pricing grid
Prices taken from etravelsim.com on October 1, 2026, identical to our catalogue. Discount rounded down to the nearest cent, as in the cart.
eTravelSim sells in dollars: the discount is calculated in dollars, and your bank converts it at the time of payment. The larger the plan, the more the code saves you, from $0.79 on the 5 GB plan to $3.59 on the 50 GB plan. Choosing the right plan remains the primary way to save, and our data usage calculator tells you how many gigabytes to plan for before the code even comes into play.
eTravelSim, what you're actually buying
eTravelSim is the eSIM shop of EtravelSim Pte Ltd, a company based in Singapore. Our catalogue includes 133 countries and 16 multi-country plans, with the operator named on each sheet: KDDI in Japan, Orange in France and Spain, and AT&T in the United States.
Two plans coexist. The data-based plan ranges from 1 GB to 100 GB, often for 30 days. The unlimited plan applies a reasonable usage policy of 4 GB per day at high speed, then 1 Mbps in most destinations, except for the "Truly Unlimited" range, sold without an announced speed cap in 16 destinations.
The QR code arrives via email and the eSIM activates upon your first connection on-site. Top-ups can be done online for some destinations, support responds via WhatsApp, phone, and email, and the app is only available on iOS. The brand is rated 3.9 out of 5 on Trustpilot, based on 761 reviews.
To put these plans in perspective with others, our Japan comparator ranks them by price per gigabyte, and our review of eTravelSim details the rest.
Fake eTravelSim promo codes and how to spot them
On the search query "eTravelSim promo code", websites publish lists of 25% or 50% discount codes without ever showing a cart where they can be applied. These lists capture the click, and the discounts they display are often brand promotions that ended weeks ago.
The solution is simple: enter the code on the payment page and check the total. If it doesn't change, the code is dead, regardless of the promise displayed next to it.
