Our marks, criterion by criterion

  • Price per GB

    4.6

Among the cheapest in our comparison: in France, 1 GB over 7 days for €1.99, 5 GB over 21 days for €3.99, 10 GB over 30 days for €5.99, 20 GB for €11.99. Daily unlimited starts at €2.99. Native euro prices.

  • Coverage

    4.5

192 countries in the esimrat catalogue, plus 7 regional zones (Europe 35 countries, Asia, Africa, North America, Latin America, Caribbean, Middle East). Roamic advertises 4G, LTE and 5G depending on the local network, without listing carriers country by country.

  • App

    3.8

No mobile app: the eSIM is managed from MyRoamic, a web dashboard where you track usage and top up a still-active plan. Installation is by QR code received by email, or manually with the attached guide.

  • Support

    4.2

Roamic advertises 24/7 support over live chat, email (info@roamic.com) and phone. On Trustpilot, positive reviews praise the speed; a one-star review from September 2026 describes a refund refused after two plans the customer could not get working.

  • Transparency

    4.0

Full refund within 180 days as long as the eSIM is not activated, and for an incompatible phone as long as the QR code was not scanned. "Unlimited" caps at 3 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps: it is written in the fair-use policy, not in the plan's name, and some reviews complain about it.

  • Flexibility

    4.5

From 1 GB over 7 days to 50 GB over 30 days, and unlimited sold by the day, from 1 to 30 days, in nearly every country. 180 days to install before automatic activation, top-up of an active plan from MyRoamic, tethering allowed within the fair-use policy.

How we score

This score is eSIMrat's own, not an average of customer reviews. It covers six criteria we assess ourselves from the catalogue's real coverage, the prices we record, and test purchases and installs. We earn a commission on sales made through our links: it changes neither the score nor the order of our rankings, which stay sorted by price per GB.

The eSIMrat verdict

Roamic is a Spanish brand (Bytetravel S.A., near Barcelona) that competes on price: in France, 10 GB over 30 days for €5.99 and 1 GB over 7 days for €1.99, in native euros, across 192 countries and 7 regional zones. Its unlimited is sold by the day, from 1 to 30 days, with 3 GB a day at full speed then 1 Mbps. You have 180 days to install the eSIM before it activates, and a full refund as long as it is not. The thing to know: no mobile app, everything goes through the MyRoamic web dashboard, and a top-up is only possible on a still-active plan.

Good for

  • Tight budgets: 10 GB over 30 days for €5.99 in France
  • Unlimited by the day, from 1 to 30 days, from €2.99
  • Trips planned far ahead: 180 days to install, full refund as long as nothing is activated

Less suited if

  • You want to manage everything from a mobile app (→ Nomad, Saily)
  • You want unlimited without a 3 GB daily cap (→ Holafly)
  • You want excellent value for money with an eSIM that is simple to install, an easy-to-use app and human support 24/7 (→ voilà eSIM)
  • You want to know which carrier you will land on before buying (→ eSIMo, Nomad)

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Among the lowest prices in our comparison, in native euros
  • Unlimited sold by the day, from 1 to 30 days
  • 180 days to install, validity only starts on arrival
  • Full refund within 180 days as long as the eSIM is not activated
  • Site and product pages in French, Spanish, Italian and German
  • Tethering allowed

Cons

  • No mobile app, management on the MyRoamic web dashboard
  • "Unlimited" = 3 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps
  • No top-up once the plan is used up or expired: you have to buy a new eSIM
  • Carriers and speed not detailed country by country
  • Data only, no phone number

How to install your eSIM with Roamic

  1. Buy your plan

Buy on roamic.com, in euros. The QR code and a manual install guide arrive by email as soon as payment clears.

  2. Pick your destination

Choose your destination and your data plan.

  3. Scan the QR code

Pay and scan the QR code to install the eSIM.

  4. Get connected

Install the eSIM before departure: it uses nothing and you have 180 days before it activates on its own. On landing, turn on the Roamic line, select it for data and enable roaming: the plan starts at the first connection to the local network.

If something goes wrong

Check that your phone is eSIM-compatible and unlocked (models sold for the Chinese market often are not), then scan the QR code over a stable Wi-Fi connection or follow the manual guide received by email. If it stalls, the chat on roamic.com or info@roamic.com answers 24/7, and an incompatible phone is refunded as long as the QR code was not scanned.

Check in order: the plan has not expired, you have actually arrived (the eSIM only starts at the first local connection), the eSIM you bought covers this country, and data roaming is on for the Roamic line. An IP address from another country is normal with them. Otherwise, report the problem to the chat before the end of the trip: that is the condition of their refund for connection failures.

Look at per-app usage in your phone's settings to spot the hungry apps. Turn off automatic updates and high-resolution video playback. Your remaining data shows in your Roamic account, or in its app when there is one.

Look for Roamic's order email, spam folder included: it holds the QR code and the manual install codes. Otherwise, log in to MyRoamic on roamic.com, or ask the chat to resend the code.

What users say

Reviews synthesised from the App Store, Google Play and online feedback. We do not republish reviews word for word: we summarise the trend.

  • ★★★★★Trustpilot

Long comparison before buying, wary of a price far below Airalo or Holafly, then a stay in Egypt without a single restriction.

  • ★★★★★Trustpilot

eSIM installed in Germany before leaving for Istanbul: 5G connected straight on arrival.

  • ★★★★★Trustpilot

Very stable connection on unlimited, with the 3 GB daily cap judged almost impossible to reach, even while tethering.

  • ★☆☆☆☆Trustpilot

Two €6.99 Switzerland plans that would not work; refund refused on one, deemed used, while an eSIM from another provider worked straight away.

  • ★☆☆☆☆Trustpilot

Complaint about an "unlimited" that is not one: 3 GB a day.

Frequently asked questions

In France, Roamic sells 1 GB over 7 days for €1.99, 5 GB over 21 days for €3.99 and 10 GB over 30 days for €5.99: the gap is so small that 10 GB is almost always the right pick. Unlimited (3 GB a day at full speed) costs €2.99 for 1 day, €13.99 for 7 days and €33.99 for 30 days.

Yes, just turn on the phone's tethering. Roamic's fair-use policy only forbids heavy sharing to several devices beyond normal personal use.

An eSIM works on most smartphones released after 2019: iPhone XS and later, Samsung Galaxy S20 and later, Google Pixel 3 and later. Your phone must be carrier-unlocked. Our eSIM-compatible phones page lists the models.

Yes. Most recent smartphones handle a physical SIM (calls, texts, your number) and an eSIM from Roamic (mobile data) side by side. You keep your usual number and use the eSIM for the Internet.

Full within 180 days of purchase if the eSIM was not activated, and for an incompatible or locked phone if the QR code was not scanned (screenshot required). For a connection failure, contact the chat or info@roamic.com during the trip: full or partial refund depending on data used, with no guarantee if you write after returning.

A travel eSIM gives you ordinary Internet access. Any restrictions (China, Iran) come from the network of the country you visit, and the plan page says so when the provider documents them.

Yes, as long as the plan is active: in MyRoamic, pick the eSIM then "Top Up". Once the data is used up or the validity has passed, the button disappears; you have to buy a new plan and ask support to apply it to your new eSIM.
