Is the OnePlus 10 Pro eSIM compatible? No, and here are your options (2026)
No, the OnePlus 10 Pro is not eSIM compatible. No version of the phone is: not the European one, not the North American one, not the Indian one. The option simply does not exist in its settings.
Before you close the tab, two pieces of good news. The European version of the 10 Pro takes two nano-SIM cards at the same time, which covers a good share of travel situations. And there are concrete ways to stay connected abroad without an eSIM: a local prepaid SIM, a second physical line, connection sharing, or an eSIM adapter card. In this 2026 rundown: the 30-second check (EID, the *#06# code), the exact SIM setup of the OnePlus 10 Pro by region, the list of OnePlus phones that actually support eSIM (11, 12, 13, 15, Open), the trap of Chinese variants, and a comparison of your options for your next trip.

Is the OnePlus 10 Pro eSIM compatible?
The answer fits in one word: no. The OnePlus 10 Pro, released in 2022, does not handle eSIM on international markets. Hands-on tests confirm it: the option to add an eSIM appears nowhere in the network settings, so there is no way to install a digital line, even with workarounds.
This is not a software limitation that an OxygenOS update could lift one day: the required chip is not enabled on this model. A phone without an active eSIM stays that way for life.
Verified on 24 August 2026 against XDA Developers and the eSIMo compatibility database.
The whole generation is in the same boat: the regular OnePlus 10 has no eSIM either, and the 10T only offers it on a few specific regional variants. At OnePlus, eSIM only really becomes standard from the next generation onwards, more on that below.
If you were shopping for a travel eSIM for this phone, do not buy one: it cannot be installed. Serious providers actually check compatibility before purchase precisely to avoid this scenario, since a paid, unusable plan is rarely refunded once the QR code has been issued.
Dual physical SIM: the 10 Pro's real room for manoeuvre
All is not lost, far from it. The version of the OnePlus 10 Pro sold in Europe and India ships with a dual nano-SIM tray: two physical cards, one on each side of the tray, and two lines active at the same time. That is the classic dual SIM dual standby setup.
In practice, when travelling, this tray does almost the same job as an eSIM: your home SIM card stays in place to receive calls and texts (bank verification codes included), and a local prepaid SIM takes the second slot for data. That is exactly how travellers use a travel eSIM, in physical form.
Watch out for the North American variant though: the 10 Pro sold in the United States and Canada has a single nano-SIM slot. With that version, no second line is possible: you have to pull out your main SIM to insert the local one, and lose your number for the duration of the trip.
The rat's advice: With a European 10 Pro, dual nano-SIM is often a better deal than an eSIM on another phone: a prepaid SIM can be bought at the airport kiosk or in town in almost every country, sometimes cheaper than travel eSIMs. The only real cost is ten minutes of queueing on arrival.
Check for yourself in 30 seconds
Want proof rather than a claim? Two quick checks, valid for any Android phone.
1. Dial *#06# on the phone keypad. The phone displays its identifiers: IMEI numbers and, if an eSIM chip is present, a 32-digit EID number. On a OnePlus 10 Pro, only the IMEIs show up: no EID, no eSIM.
2. Open Settings, then Wi-Fi and network, then SIM and network. On a compatible OnePlus, an "Add eSIM" option appears below the SIM slots. On the 10 Pro, that line does not exist.
This double check is also worth running before buying a second-hand phone: it takes 30 seconds and avoids bad surprises, whatever the model on the listing. To place any device, our list of eSIM compatible phones covers every brand, generation by generation.
Staying connected abroad with a OnePlus 10 Pro
No eSIM does not mean no internet. Four real solutions, from the simplest to the most exotic.
The local prepaid SIM: solution number one with this phone. On arrival, a local nano-SIM card goes into the second slot (European version) and local data runs at local rates. Just make sure your 10 Pro is unlocked if it came from a carrier.
The physical travel SIM: some international providers still ship physical multi-country SIM cards you top up online. Less common in the eSIM era, but it exists and it can be set up before departure, with no airport queue.
Connection sharing: if you travel with someone whose phone supports eSIM, that device can act as a router via its hotspot. The 10 Pro connects to it like any Wi-Fi network. Works great as a pair, less so solo.
The physical eSIM adapter: products like eSIM.me or the Switch Card take the shape of a nano-SIM card that stores eSIM profiles (up to 15 depending on the maker) and slots into the 10 Pro's tray. On paper, it turns a phone without eSIM into a compatible one. In practice, it is one more accessory to buy, one more app to manage, and profile compatibility depends on the card maker: a workaround for advanced users, not something we recommend to everyone.
There is also the radical option: if eSIM has become a real need (several trips a year, multiple lines, digital plans), it may be the sign that this otherwise excellent phone has reached its limit for your usage.
Which OnePlus phones support eSIM?
At OnePlus, eSIM becomes standard from 2023. The eSIM compatible models: OnePlus 11, OnePlus 12 and 12R, OnePlus 13, 13R and 13T, OnePlus 15, and the OnePlus Open foldable. Earlier ranges (the 9 and 10 series) and most of the Nord line go without.
List verified on 24 August 2026, cross-checked against eSIM providers' compatibility databases.
One sizeable trap remains, the same as with other manufacturers: variants sold in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao have no eSIM, whatever the model, including a brand-new OnePlus 13 or 15. It is a hardware restriction, not a setting.
The rat's advice: A recent OnePlus at a knock-down second-hand price sometimes comes from the Chinese market. Before paying, demand a screenshot of *#06#: no EID line, no eSIM, even on a model that "normally" has one. That 30-second reflex separates the bargain from the trap.
Once you own a compatible model, travel eSIM becomes trivial and prices have become very affordable. Taking the United States at 10 GB / 30 days as an example, checked on 24 August 2026: €12.20 at voilà (the best value for money in our survey, with an eSIM that is easy to install, an easy-to-use app and human customer support 24/7), €20.00 at Airalo, €20.49 at Saily. The full breakdown by destination is on our country pages, for example USA eSIM.
Verdict: what should you do with your OnePlus 10 Pro?
Three profiles, three answers, no hedging.
You travel once or twice a year, in Europe or with the dual SIM version: keep your phone. A local prepaid SIM in the second slot does the job of an eSIM, often at the same price. The OnePlus 10 Pro is still an excellent machine in 2026.
You travel often and want the flexibility of eSIM (install before departure, switch plans in two minutes, keep several profiles on standby): the physical eSIM adapter can help out, but the real answer is a compatible phone. At OnePlus, from the 11 in its global variant; elsewhere, the choice is wide.
You have the single-SIM North American variant: that is the most constraining setup. Share a connection from a travel companion, or swap SIMs on arrival and accept losing your number during the trip. If the trips keep coming, switching devices quickly pays for itself.
One last word on the OnePlus 10 Pro and eSIM: the answer is no, it will stay no, and it is not a tragedy. The European dual SIM tray is a genuine traveller's solution, and the day you change phones, eSIM compatibility takes 30 seconds to check with a simple *#06#.
